Staff at Marchmont Care Home delighted to received a glowing report from the Care Inspectorate
Marchmont House were visited by the Care Inspectorate in May and they found the home benefited from good leadership, stable staffing and workers who treated everyone staying at Marchmont with kindness, compassion, dignity and respect.
Marchmont received some of the highest grades possible for the way it looks after residents.
Manager Jan McPhee said: "We are over the moon with the grades we got. It's been very uplifting for me and staff, it's been especially hard for everyone over the last two years.
"It boils down to the hard work of the staff, who are very dedicated. We have a hard-working team within Marchmont, they are so compassionate and the residents always come first."
The Care Inspectorate spoke with 13 people and their relatives who told them staff were kind and considerate. They found that decisions taken were informed by care plans.
The report said: "The health and welfare of people were well managed by a knowledgeable staff team. Staff were quick to notice any changes in people's health and follow these up with professionals."
Inspectors say people living at Marchmont are supported to have very good health conditions and that staff recognise that relatives like to be involved with the care and support of their loved ones. The report also stated that residents enjoyed a homely environment at the establishment, with relatives highlighting the 'welcoming and friendly' atmosphere.
